Meet Deanne Wingate - Founder and Managing Director of myAbility
Deanne completed her Bachelor of Occupational Therapy at La Trobe University, Melbourne in 2004. It was here that she met Cassandra commencing a career long friendship sharing the love of coffee, exercise, and passion for helping others.
Deanne has worked in variety of settings since graduating, including community health; completing domiciliary home visits to prescribe equipment and home modifications and facilitating independent living group programs to both adult and aged populations. She has also worked in the acute, rehabilitation and aged mental health services at Monash Health. Following return from maternity leave in early 2018 Deanne’s work has been exclusively focused on providing NDIS funded services and teaching life skills. Deanne realised her dream in 2020 and founded the practice ‘myAbility’ to specialise in empowering life skills to adults with Intellectual Disabilities.
Deanne balances work with a busy family life, married with two active boys. Deanne enjoys keeping fit and scouting a bargain. She has been known to drive across Melbourne for that special something or the perfect cappuccino. Whenever possible, Deanne and her family also enjoy adventures and relaxing in their caravan.

Meet Cassandra Locke - Managing Director of myAbility
Cassandra completed her Bachelor of Occupational Therapy at La Trobe University, Melbourne in 2004. Since graduating she has worked solely with an adult and aged population predominantly in hospital and community settings. Her experience in physical and cognitive rehabilitation across a wide range of diagnostic areas means she has a breadth of knowledge when working with people with disability who are wanting to improve their abilities in everyday tasks. In recent years, she has focused her career on working with people in their homes and has a strong passion for promoting health, well-being and happiness.
Cassandra is married and has two young mischievous sons. She loves exercising, dancing and cooking. Cassandra also really enjoys reading and has been an enthusiastic member of a social book club for over ten years. Cassandra tries to challenge herself to learn words in other languages whenever she meets someone that speaks something other than English and she cannot live without her morning coffee. She was born and raised in Melbourne and has a noisy cat named Eli.
